BC Place In The Community
What we do, out in the community
BC Place brings people together in meaningful ways, continuing to grow as a welcoming space for communities across British Columbia. From hosting standout moments like the Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025 and celebrating the FIFA World Cup 26 countdown, to strengthening relationships with Indigenous communities through partnerships and cultural events, its impact reaches far beyond the stadium. Opening its doors to everyday community use by welcoming school groups, supporting initiatives like Kids Up Front Movie Day and Hope and Health Camps, and creating shared experiences through community lightings.
Vancouver Pride Pit Stop
BC Place’s Pride Pit Stop is a free, family-friendly celebration offering a vibrant place to pause and take in the Pride Parade’s energy. With prime viewing of the festivities, guests can enjoy fun, festive food & beverage in a welcoming, inclusive atmosphere for everyone.
FIFA World Cup 26 One-Year-To-Go Countdown Event
To mark the milestone, BC Place collaborated with the City of Vancouver, the Province of BC, and xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and Səl̓ílwətaʔ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations to bring together local youth for ‘The Best Match’ on Terry Fox Plaza. This action-packed event offered kids a surprise professional soccer experience, complete with FIFA kits and music, with media and fans cheering them on.
Kids Up Front
Through a partnership with Kids Up Front Vancouver, more than 1,100 children were given the chance to experience a truly unforgettable day at BC Place. Families enjoyed an afternoon of playing games, meeting mascots, and getting their faces painted, before settling in for a movie on the centre-field LED screen, complete with a classic hot dog combo.
Blanketing The City
Blanketing The City: Illuminating BC Place for Musqueam weaver Debra Sparrow’s Blanketing the City art campaign. BC Place was illuminated in a powerful visual tribute that brought Indigenous art and storytelling to the forefront of Vancouver’s skyline. The installation extended the reach of the campaign beyond traditional gallery spaces, transforming the stadium into a canvas that celebrated Musqueam culture, history, and presence on these lands.
