BC Place lights up red and blue for Global HHT Awareness Day

June 23rd, 2021

BC Place will light up red and blue for Global Hereditary Hemorrhagic Telangiectasia (HHT) Awareness Day on Wednesday, June 23rd.

Hereditary Hemorrhagic Telangiectasia (HHT) is a rare blood vessel disorder that affects 1 in 5000 to 10000 people worldwide. It is a genetic disorder meaning it is passed down from parent to child. HHT patients may have very weak and fragile blood vessels in various places of the body, including the nostrils, lungs, liver, brain and even spine. These blood vessels can break and can cause life threatening bleeds. There is no cure or universally effective treatment.
