BC PLACE GLOWS “PINK” THIS SUNDAY FOR “RUN FOR THE CURE”

Vancouver, BC: BC Place will add its support to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation ‘CIBC Run for the Cure’ this Sunday by lighting the 36-foot tall Northern Lights Display “pink”.

Vancouver joins 58 communities across the country in the largest single-day, volunteer-led national event in Canada in support of breast cancer research. This year, the CIBC Run for the Cure in Vancouver begins at 9:00AM at Concord Pacific Place.

Last year, 10,000 walkers and runners participated in the 1km or 5km event in Vancouver alone, helping raise $1.8 million. Across Canada, participants raised more than $30 million, with $4.76 million of that generated in BC. All proceeds raised at runs in BC will remain in the BC/Yukon Region. Breast cancer remains the most common form of cancer diagnosed in Canadian women, with one in nine Canadian women diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime. More information at www.cbcf.org/bc
