BC PLACE CHEF COMPETES AT CULINARY OLYMPICS

(Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada – October 5, 2012)- Centerplate, the leading Event Hospitality partner to North America’s top entertainment venues, convention centers and sports franchises, is proud to announce that Executive Chef Ryan Stone of BC Place stadium, will be competing for Team BC in the culinary world’s ultimate competition: the Internationale Kochkunst Ausstellung (IKA) or World Culinary Olympics. As part of the British Columbia delegation, Centerplate’s BC Place Stadium Executive Chef Ryan Stone and Culinary team member Westley Feist, will travel to Erfurt, Germany, competing to bring B.C. a fourth consecutive gold medal at the Culinary Olympics underway today while promoting British Columbia’s international reputation for culinary excellence.

Drawing on a long-standing partnership with Culinary Team BC, Centerplate has hosted these leading culinary creators as guest chefs on the general concession level at select events for the 2012 season, as well as the 2011 Grey Cup Championship at BC Place. In partnership with Centerplate, Team BC has introduced unique culinary delights, and provided world-class hospitality for fans at BC Place including:

• Braised beef short rib sandwich with apple-horseradish coleslaw
• Texas style pulled pork sliders
• Braised meatball sandwich with arugula and provolone
• Freshly made maple bacon donuts
• A snack mix with 5-spice duck rinds

These guest chef appearances have generated incredible media attention for BC Place and its industry-leading food and beverage programs. In addition, a portion of the proceeds from Team BC specials have gone towards the team’s fundraising efforts.
