Northern Lights Display - May 2021

The stadium's Northern Lights Display is recognized around the world as a landmark of Vancouver’s skyline. BC Place is honoured to be able to help bring awareness to events, charities and non-profit causes that are important to communities in British Columbia.

Here are the stadium's lighting initiatives for May:

May 1st - Grey for Brain Tumour Awareness Month

May 2nd - Red for Asian Heritage Month

May 3rd - Green for Lyme Disease Awareness Month

May 4th - Yellow for CMHA Mental Health Week

May 5th - Purple for World Pulmonary Hypertension (PH) Day

May 6th - Blue and Green for Cystic Fibrosis Awareness Month

May 7th - Red in advance of Red Cross Day on May 8th

May 8th - Teal for World Ovarian Cancer Day

May 9th - Teal for Food Allergy Awareness Week

May 10th - Purple for World Lupus Day

May 11th - Blue and Purple in advance of Chronic Immunological and Neurological Diseases (CIND) Awareness Day on May 12th

May 12th - Blue for International Nurses Day and National Nurses Week

May 13th - Blue and Yellow in advance of MPS Awareness Day on May 15th

May 14th - Blue and Purple in advance of Huntington Disease Awareness Day on May 15th

May 15th - Green in advance of Celiac Awareness Day on May 16th

May 16th - Red in advance of World Hypertension Day on May 17th

May 17th - Blue and Green for World Neurofibromatosis (NF) Awareness Day

May 18th - Blue for Speech and Hearing Awareness Month and Vision Health Month

May 19th - Purple for World IBD Day

May 20th - Yellow for Melanoma and Skin Cancer Awareness Month

May 21st - Rainbow for World Day of Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development

May 22nd - Orange for World Preeclampsia Day

May 23rd - Blue in advance of BC Bereavement Day on May 30th

May 24th - Purple for World Schizophrenia and Psychosis Awareness Day

May 25th - Yellow for Bladder Cancer Awareness Month

May 26th - Blue and Green for National Tourism Week

May 27th - Red in advance of Menstrual Hygiene (MH) Day on May 28th

May 28th - Teal and Coral for Vancouver Startup Week

May 29th - Blue and Gold for Courage to Come Back Awards

May 30th - Red for World Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Day

May 31st - Orange to honour the 215 children whose remains were discovered in a mass grave at the site of the former Kamloops Indian Residential School.

In addition to these lighting initiatives, the stadium will continue to light up with a special animation at the top of each hour (between sunset and 11pm) every night to show support for health care professionals across the province who are working tirelessly to support our communities through the COVID-19 pandemic.
