BC Place Northern Lights in Ukrainian colours to start March lighting schedule

Month’s illumination includes special Maple Leaf animation for Canadian Paralympic athletes

VANCOUVER, BC – BC Place’s Northern Lights display is glowing in blue and yellow at the top of each hour, beginning this past Sunday, February 27, as a symbolic initiative in solidarity with the Ukrainian community in British Columbia and around the world.

Special illumination shows scheduled this month include a Maple Leaf animation for Canadian athletes at the XIII Paralympic Winter Games on March 4, and a unique Garden light display during the BC Home + Garden Show from March 10 to 13.

 Other community initiatives to be amplified using the stadium’s illumination show are:

  • Amyloidosis Awareness Month
  • HERstory of Hope (International Women’s Day)
  • World Down Syndrome Day
  • World Water Day
  • Colorectal Awareness Month
  • World Tubercolosis Day
  • Endometriosis Awareness Month
  • International Purple Day for Epilepsy Awareness
