BC Place lights up for Schizophrenia and Psychosis Awareness

BC Place will light up purple today in advance of National Schizophrenia & Psychosis Awareness Day on May 24th.
Schizophrenia is an extremely complex mental illness believed to be caused by a biochemical imbalance. Psychosis is a severe mental disorder in which thought and emotions are so impaired that contact is lost with external reality. In any given year, 1 in 5 Canadians will personally experience a mental health problem or illness, which could include schizophrenia or psychosis.
