BC Place glows in support of BC Cancer Foundation

August 11th, 2018

BC Place will glow yellow, teal and purple on Saturday, August 11th to commemorate the Cypress Challenge, supporting the BC Cancer Foundation.

Founded by the Glotman Simpson Cycling Club in 2007, the Cypress Challenge is the largest privately funded fundraising event for pancreatic cancer in Canada, and the largest community-based event for BC Cancer Foundation.

This year, nearly 800 British Columbians will be diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Although it is the 10th most common cancer in Canada, it is the 4th leading cause of cancer death after lung and breast in women, and colorectal and prostate in men.

Over the past ten years, the Cypress Challenge has raised over $2.5 million for the BC Cancer Foundation in support of pancreatic cancer research and care in BC.
