PavCo introduces the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Program at the Vancouver Convention Centre and BC Place

October 22nd, 2025

VANCOUVER, BC (October 22, 2025) – PavCo and its venues, the Vancouver Convention Centre and BC Place, are proud to announce that the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower (HDS) program is now available at both venues starting today.

The HDS is a global initiative that uses a Sunflower symbol as a subtle way to indicate that someone has a non-visible disability and may need extra support, understanding or time. Having the HDS program at PavCo’s venues is part of the organization’s commitment to providing the best experiences for patrons and guests with varying backgrounds and accessibility needs.

Guests attending events will be able to access a Sunflower lanyard or sticker from our venues, which they can either keep or loan. Sunflower resources will be available at the following locations:

  • BC Place: Lanyards are available at the level 2 and level 4 Guest Services desks located at sections 234 and 446
  • Vancouver Convention Centre: Lanyards and stickers are available at the East and West Lobby Information Desks

Not all disabilities are visible, and the Sunflower helps to break down barriers by increasing awareness and promoting empathy. It symbolizes our organization’s commitment to inclusion, ensuring that every individual who walks through our doors feels valued and supported.
